Job Description
The Design Intern will work directly with the Interior Design Department, aiding in design-driven decisions regarding material finishes, furnishings, lighting, and layout as well as other relevant design aspects. The internship position may be a full-time or part-time position, depending on the requirements of the local design studio, and the student’s degree program.
Main Responsibilities
Possess a strong desire to learn about and progress through the interior design profession
Take direction from others and maintain a positive attitude
Be a self-starter and team player
Perform other duties as needed
Requisites
Education
Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA
Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry
Experience
Currently enrolled in a university or college
Software Requirements and Tools
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign).
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and experience using computer-aided design software such as AutoCAD, REVIT and SketchUp.
Skills
• Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate interior design program
• Attention to detail a must
• Must possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
• Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with diverse project team members.
• Advanced graphic design skills.
